Family Friendly This is a great little trail to stretch the whole family's legs when stopping at the pass.

The pass closes in the winter season.

Description

This trail begins from the northwest corner of the Wilkerson Pass Visitor Center parking lot. From the top of the pass, there are excellent views over South Park all the way to the Mosquito Mountains. You'll gently descend through open meadow along the "handle" of the "lollipop" trail for the first third of a mile. The trail becomes level and splits into a loop. The southern side of the loop remains in open meadow with nice views of the pass, while the northern half of the meadow is in pine and aspen forest. The tip of the trail passes some rock formations. Once you complete the loop, you'll need to take the "handle" back to the visitor center.
