Overview
This 5.7-mile route includes three singletrack trails that give hikers incredible views of the falls from the southwest and views of Chewacla Creek along the way. There are several great spots on the trail that overlook the creek and the falls.
Description
The
Lakeside Connector from the Lower Pavilion is a quick hike to the split of the
Falls View Trail and the
CCC Trail. The loop begins here and there are several length options along the route.
Falls View Trail is a great trail, with several views of the falls below the lake's dam. The trail ends at the beginning of the
Creek View Trail.
This trail follows Chewacla Creek with several rock outcroppings that the trail wind through. There is a short cut out of the woods to the left that provides a shorter option back to the trailhead (stay right on the switchbacks to stay on Creek View). Creek View will terminate after a few miles with the option to return to the trailhead or continue on the
CCC Trail.
The
CCC Trail makes its way back down to beautiful creek and back up around the CCC campground (NOTE: at mile 4.5 of this hike, there is a bridge crossing the creek that connects you to the much longer
For Pete's Sake Trail that has both a 3 mile and 8 mile option). After the bridge, you are just over a mile from the trailhead at the Lower Pavilion. All trails are clearly marked.
