Park at the Second Creek Trailhead. This trail is a high alpine trail and melts out enough to hike mid to late June.

Description

This trail is great either as a short jaunt to the hut or as part of a longer hike up to the Mount Nystrom Trail. The trail ascends quickly up a wide trail and then starts up a more technical section towards tree line. Just before reaching Broome Hut, there are some picnic tables with an amazing view of the second creek headwall.

Inclines on the way up can be tough. Caught a snow storm on the way down and sheltered at the hut. 5.7mi

trail is good to the Broome hut but at 11,450 there's enough snow to posthole and slip. Bring snowshoes to get to ridge. 1.1mi — 1h 40m
