Description
This trail eventually will link up with the
Crosier Mountain Glen Haven Trail (#931-2) in two places and can be used to make a loop. From the northern intersection, H-G travels south and east to the southern intersection via an easier grade and less technical trail. Also, this trail takes you past the remains of the Anderson House cabin for a bit of an interesting historical diversion. There is one gate to pass through near the cabin with a sign asking you to close it behind you.
The trail looks to follow an old jeep or wagon road in places that has pretty much grown into singletrack. There is some erosion of the trail but nothing major. At the western extreme of the trail, you'll encounter a much larger gate that again contains the sign asking you to close it behind you. Passing through this second gate would lead you down to the H-G Ranch itself.
The southern end of this trail does have a short stretch of descent before spitting you out into a vast open meadow with gorgeous views all around. After you hike through this meadow you'll reach the intersection with the
Crosier Mountain Glen Haven Trail (#931-2) again where there is a sign pointing out which trail is which.
