Description

This trail runs roughly parallel to and in-between Lake Marie Road and Skyline Trail. It starts from Skyline Trail at its north end and then rejoins it again near Lake Marie.

The climbing direction is in the southeast direction as shown on the map. It's also the start of the Skyline Wilderness Park loop. You may want to try this climb if you're working on technical climbing skills, otherwise, head up Lake Marie Road to Lake Marie then use the Skyline Trail to connect with the Buckeye Trail heading downhill.

The first section is fairly smooth and rolling, then becomes steeper and rockier past the Bayleaf Trail. Watch for hikers, horses and bikers coming up the steep section.
