Description
The Catamount Trail runs the length of the North Catamount Reservoir, makes a loop just south of Raspberry Mountain then returns back.
The first two miles of this trail follow along a gentle slope. The dirt road is well maintained and free of any technical obstacles.
Blue River Trail and
Mule Deer Trail begin off of the south side of the road. The trail then dives towards the reservoir and then begins to climb again slowly along North Catamount Creek. The
Limber Pine Trail crosses the Catamount Trail near the western marshes.
At about mile four, the singletrack begins heading south along the creek. At mile five, the loop intersects. The trail to the west is much more gradual in climb, as it runs along the bottom of Raspberry Mountain.
At mile 6.2, the climb ends and the trail turns southward and then begins a gentle climb towards mile eight. The trail then rapidly descends as it turns north and leads back towards North Catamount Creek and the dirt road portion of the trail.
