Family Friendly
Easy to follow and mostly flat. About 1/2 mile in the middle is along a fairly steeply sloped canyon, so younger kids will need close supervision.
Description
Relatively easy singletrack dirt trail through Lincoln National Forest that offers views of White Sands and the Tularosa Basin through the trees. The trail winds through tall evergreen and Aspen trees. The south end of the trail connects to the Sunspot Trail (T105B) and Cathey Canyon Connector (which connects to the Rim Trail (T105))while the north end of the trail connects to the Rim Trail (T105). The majority of the trail is flat, but the north end had roughly 1/4 mile with rapid elevation change. The trail can be hiked as part of a 3.6 mile loop with the Rim Trail (T105) and Cathey Canyon Connector by parking at the Cathey Canyon Vista parking lot, or part of a 6.3 mile loop by combining it with the Sunspot Trail (T105B) and the Rim Trail (T105).
