From Trail C, Trail D follows along the contours of many lake inlets and ravines along Mill Creek Lake. Just under a mile from its beginning, Trail D begins a loop section that takes hikers along some switchbacks and down to lake level. Hikers climb out, close the loop and retrace the nearly one mile of trail back to the entrance.
