This is a very popular mountain biking area. Please stay alert while on the trails and be respectful of other users.

Description

This trail starts out at the end of Little Canyon, which you'd hike if you're coming from the Mag 7 trails. However, you can also get up here by driving or hiking along Gemini Bridges road to the Gold Bar Rim Safari Rte (zoom in on the Hybrid layer to see that). You can get an SUV or truck to the Safari Rte and park at an obvious sandy "cul-de-sac" area 100 yards before the trail turns from sand to a rocky climb.

Gold Bar isn't a terribly technical route, but it's a sustained climb with some technical spots along the way.

Use this trail to get to a great viewpoint on the edge of the cliff, looking out towards Arches National Park.

Warning: Continuing along the Gold Bar Rim and Portal route requires big commitment, and more experience.
