This is a popular route for mountain bikers. Be alert as you hike.

Description

This section of the Santa Ana River Trail is one of the rougher parts. From the bottom, it's reasonably wide from where it intersects with the Middle Control Road. The trail soon narrows and encounters some washed-out holes near a big drop-off, a big rock slide, a fallen tree to scramble over. After that, the trail smooths out again around the top.
