DuPont State Recreational Forest is a very popular multiuse, bi-directional trail system, so be on the lookout for hikers, horses, and bikers. It is normally open in any weather although it can close in extended periods of freeze / thaw during the winter.

Description

Buck Forest Road starts off of Staton Road near the Visitors Center at the High Falls parking area. It connects to Triple Falls, High Falls, Covered Bridge, Conservation Road, Chestnut Oak Road, Lake Imaging Road, Isaac Heath, Thomas Cemetery Road, Jim Branch, White Pine Road, Hickory Mountain Road, Flatwoods, and ends near the Guion Farm parking area on Sky Valley Road.

Flora & Fauna

Pines, hemlocks, rhododendrons, grasses, oaks and maples. Several species of birds and also deer.
