As of August 2020, the land owner requests that people no longer park and try this hike.
The beginning 0.25 miles the public trail is on a privately own road.
Description
Be courteous when parking at the trailhead. Where the road ends, a private driveway begins. Do not block the driveway!
Essentially, from the start of the trail in Ram Valley, follow the singletrack to the glacier at the end of the valley, and then climb up scree to the north (your left-hand side). Continue up the peak at your leisure. Though it is not at all technical, it is a very strenuous hike, and having some endurance is a must. Keep hydrated!
From the summit, one can see Eagle River, Anchorage, Mt. Marcus Baker (the tallest peak in the Chugach Range). Overall, this hike makes a very long and enduring day trip for a well-worth-it peak experience!
Flora & Fauna
Expect bears, goats, ptarmigan, raven.
