The beginning of the trail can be missed easily; it starts at a right curve in the East Shore Trail. You'll hike down the gentle slope and get close to Swallow Bay. The beach in Swallow Bay is on the left. You'll cross East Shore Trail again for a second, but stay left close to the beach to remain on the trail. Make a left turn and cross a cattle gate. The trail turns right and rejoins East Shore Trail after another cattle gate.
