Patterson Lake Trail

This trail overlooks Patterson Lake to the East and is part of the Sun Mountain Lodge Trail system that connects Radar Creek Trail to Cabin Trail. It's easy to intermediate only because it runs along the mid/high-bank edge of the lake. It includes a couple rolling hills, as well as a small section of rocky surface areas. Otherwise, a nice, pleasant lake view trail. Partially wooded.

A nice viewpoint is located near the South Western most section of the trail, overlooking the lake and a nice place for a picnic or to take a dip.

Getting there: Either hike from Winthrop following the Winthrop Trail up to Patterson Lake or drive to the Chickadee Trailhead parking lot:

Driving directions to start from Winthrop: from the four-way stop sign in downtown Winthrop go east on hwy 20 about a half mile and turn right after crossing the bridge onto twin lakes rd. follow twin lakes road about 3 miles to Patterson lake road and turn right. follow Patterson lake road about 5 1/4 miles to Chickadee trailhead/Thompson ridge road and turn left twice into the parking lot.
