This trail is not very well maintained (if maintained at all) and proves a great cardio workout if you push yourself a bit.

The trail features rocky uphills and downhills but isn't so rocky that it's irritating to hike on. Most of the trail is uphill, but there are some decently long downhill sections. Like most old school trails on the East Coast, this hardly has any switchbacks.

If you enter through the rec. area, you need to pay to get in. I recommend starting from inside the rec area if it's your first time.
