At a campground and designed with kids in mind.
Description
Wrangler and
Rowdy are loop trails adjacent to and accessed through the Horsethief Campground. These are designed primarily with kids in mind however they offer a great, albeit small, taste of what hiking in the greater Moab area is like for any novice or anyone here for the first time.
Featuring a bit of slickrock, a little sand, twisty corners and some step up/downs from small rock ledges they are a preview of what one will find throughout the rest of Moab on a much larger and challenging scale.
If you are not staying in the campground, please park outside the gate near the dumpster area, or contact the Host and ask permission to park within the campground. Both trails start at a map kiosk marked ‘Camp Trails’ on the Buckskin Loop of the campground.
Wrangler is the easiest of the two trails as it wanders an almost mile long twisting route all within the fenced area of the campground. Some small ups and downs and various little obstacles keep the attention focused and speed limited. This is a great area for kids to spot squirrels, rabbits and lizards as well.
