Description

The Shenandoah Trail can be accessed from too many places to list here. Basically, find a parking lot or street nearby and access the trail. There are about ten spurs leading to the adjacent streets which makes this trail very accessible for anyone living in the neighborhoods nearby. The trail does have some short elevation gains and losses, so be aware of bikers picking up speed, and because of the high traffic, it is recommended to avoid using earbuds on this trail. There are a few areas along the trail that feel a bit constrained with fences limiting your views. In general, the southern half of the trail tends to feel a little more open. Be sure to be friendly and say "Hi" to all the others out enjoying the trail!
