Family Friendly
Generally a wide and easy to navigate path with limited exposure to harsh elements.
Overview
This is a very urban hike largely on paved trails, but is a great intro hike.
Need to Know
There are water taxis and a bus that service Portofino/Santa Margherita, so if you don't feel up to an out-and-back trip, you can hike this as a point-to-point. Most towns in the Cinque Terre area are serviced by a combination of bus, train, and/or water taxi, which enables interesting one-way hikes.
Description
This well-marked and well-traveled trail connects Santa Margherita Ligure with Portofino. It can be done as a one-way hike with a return via water taxi or bus, or as a return trip on foot as well. The path is mostly paved or stone. Along the way, you pass many beaches (some with public access) and opportunities to take photos of the splendid countryside.
Flora & Fauna
Olive trees line portions of the trail.
