Description
NOTE: Can O' Corn can be done in either direction however, this description starts with
Merlin. This is the extended version of Can O' Corn, connecting
Merlin to
Dogwood.
At the intersection of
Merlin and
Shipwreck, Can O' Corn starts just on the other side of the pipeline. This section of trail is new and does not have a lot of grace. It is fun but thank goodness it is short. During the winter months, this section can be a bit muddy. Once you clear the new section and enter the old Can O' Corn near West Boundary Road, the trails traverses a bit like a roller coaster and this short section is one of the most fun on Camp Robinson.
The trail then settles in and provides a smooth bed of singletrack as you work your way toward
Dogwood. The trail crosses a few small creeks which are rocky and while they may have water, they are not muddy. Then the trail turns west and enters a low area with thick brush that provides a nice corridor. Bridges have been added to the section to save you from hiking through big seasonal waterholes. After the bridges, the trail enters the woods again as you pass an old homestead. There are a few spots just before you arrive at
Dogwood that can be muddy during winter months.
