Description
This forest road climbs (or descends) steeply through some pastoral farmland. The town of Langwies serves as the starting point and there are connections with other trails including the Strelapass to Langwies segment towards Davos. Langwies also has a train station if you've descended this road and want to take the train back to whence you came to avoid some climbing.
The other end of the trail is in the bucolic hamlet of Strassberg, which is watched over by fire hydrants masquerading as little elves. Or was that little elves masquerading as fire hydrants?
There's a restaurant with a deck that offers a sweeping view of the whole valley and a well-earned, hearty meal and appropriate beverage for those who've just climbed the 600 m (1800 ft) from Langwies. You'll want to fuel up if you're headed north because the
Durannapass trail features some fun singletrack through the pass itself, but not without some more climbing first.
