Description

Sweetwater is the easiest of the three loops accessible from the Summit Trailhead at the Art Roscoe Trail system. It starts off the main trunk trail not far from the trailhead. Take a left onto the trail and start a long gradual downhill.

After the trail makes the turn onto the other side of the ridge, you'll get a nice view through the trees down into the Salamanca Valley. The trail starts a gradual climb in this section, but levels off as it turns slightly to the left.

After this, the trail presents you with a series of pleasant rolling ups and downs as it winds along the contour back towards the trunk trail. Only at the very end of the trail does it really climb to gain back some of the elevation lost in the beginning.
