Description
This trail has been pretty chewed up by motos that ride this trail pretty aggressively. It is open to foot traffic but many may opt to find other trails in the area.
This trail starts from the very top of Blue Mountain at the Lookout Tower. There are great views at the start. It is probably best to do this as an out-and-back, starting at the bottom. Here the description is written from the top descending.
The hike is fun if you like loose, rocky trails that mountain bikes and motors enjoy as well. It is singletrack the whole way down the mountain. There are some small rocky steps and very loose switchbacks depending on the weather. There are some trails that shoot off to the right as you are descending, but if you stay on the main trail it will drop you at the bridge that crosses Hayes Creek. To follow Deadman's Ridge proper to Deadman's Point, turn right after a small rise in the trail and climb another 20 feet. Zip along the ridge as it opens up out of the trees. The trail has branches to the right but the main trail brings you to a rocky point you can climb to see great views of the valley.
There are no trail signs for this trail, but Deadman's is used more heavily and will be obvious after the first couple of turns.
