BST: 12th Street to Jumpoff Canyon

Park on 12th Street (Canyon Road) across the street (north) from Rainbow Gardens. There is a restroom and a trail map here. From the south end of the parking lot, start up the singletrack on a steady 8.5% grade. There are some sections of loose dirt and small scree slides here with some exposure on the downhill sides, but nothing too challenging. At approximately 0.45 miles, there is a junction; take the right turn uphill here. About 0.25 miles later you'll intersect the service road. The singletrack continues uphill about 50 feet north of the intersection here.

From the intersection of the service road, it is about 1.1 miles to the highest point of the trail. There are some smaller rocky sections and a few exposed spots along this segment.

Continuing north, you'll soon pass above the 9th Street climbing wall, and beyond this the trail gets a bit more rocky with a few lengthier sections of talus. 1.4 miles from the high-point, you'll intersect the intersection of the Jumpoff Canyon South Trail. A little less than a half-mile later, as the trail continues to descend, you'll hit the Jumpoff Canyon South Trail.
