Features Lake

Family Friendly Easy grades along a lake. But the rocks could be a challenge for some.

Description

Start at the Bald Eagle Launch in Howard. The trail goes through a heavily wooded area with lots of creek crossings and rock gardens. It remains within 20 ft or so of the lake shore on the way out (but views of the lake are limited by the heavy growth). The trail is a flattened lollipop shape.

The second half is a loop that follows the lake edge on the way out, crosses under the train tracks and continues through the woods, paralleling the train tracks back to Park Rd. Follow Park Rd for a few hundred yards to get to the crossover back under the train tracks to connect with the first part of the trail. Retrace your steps on the first half of Lakeview Trail to return to the parking lot.

If you like rocky trails then this one if for you!
