Description
The Lynx Trail is an internal trail system that links many of the surrounding trails on the southern side of the park. There are many places you can park and jump in on this trail so take your pick.
The trail is made up of predominately hard packed dirt with some gravel areas.
Starting off at the Sunrise Day-Use Parking Lot allows for a nice slow climb up and through the trail system. Take a left and follow the trail through the Snowberry Campground. It will take you up and through the Northern portion of the trail passing through the Disc Golf Course. You'll also pass through and around other campsites like Whitetail Campground and Camp Ward, to name a couple.
A fun thing to do is to stop off at the "Museum At The Brig" and take in some History. This was a Navy Brig during World War II - very interesting!
You'll continue on through a well-kept forest. Once you near the south-western portion of the trail starts bending back around and directing you back towards the east on the southern portion of the trail. From here you'll start heading mostly downhill with some short climbs along the way. It gets really fun here because the trail is quite smooth.
