"The Great Trail Race is an epic point to point route that follows a similar course as The Great Ski Race between Truckee and Tahoe City, with one major difference: You choose to trail run or mountain bike one of two course options, Elite or Classic. The Elite division course adds in more technically challenging terrain," explains the greattrailrace.com

Run or Bike! Choose either the Elite or Classic Course!

Both the Elite and Classic Courses start at the Truckee Regional Park in Truckee and finish at the Highlands Community Center (also known as Tahoe Cross Country) 925 Country Club Dr, Tahoe City, CA 96145.
The Classic Course features a route through the Tahoe National Forest on fire roads, and trails. There is a paved section while on the 73 or (Fiberboard Freeway). The distance is approximately 18.9 miles or 30.5 kilometers.

The Elite Course features technical segments on the Tahoe Rim Trail, Tevis Trail and Sawtooth Trail. The distance is approximately 22.25 miles or 36 kilometers and has approximately 3,000′ of ascent.

There are six aid stations along the course. Each station has water and Gatorade. Aid Stations further in, closer to the finish, will also have food items.
