Description

As mapped, this route is traveling south from the trailhead.

Start at the well marked trailhead on Blue Grass Hollow Road. This trail continually climbs for about 4.5 miles up Little Mare Mountain. The trail is relatively well marked with blue blazes but is not a frequently traveled route. There are a few steep grades and rocky sections near the top of the climb.

The trail ends with a shore descent to the Little Mare Creek and the start of the Brushy Ridge Trail. At the top of this descent there is a trail that splits off to the right...stay left.

Southern end of Little Mare Mountain Trail, where it meets Brushy Ridge Trail. This small section is seldom hiked, never biked, as a better route via the Nature Conservancy land exists.
