Description

This is a short trail that provides a fun look at a massive obsidian flow in Newberry Crater. The tread is comprised of abrasive volcanic glass, so leave your favorite pair of shoes at home and opt for a cheap pair!

Further, dogs should be left at home unless they have rugged booties for their feet.

Flora & Fauna

None... it's just rock.

Hiker for scale, dead center. The trail is not very visible when you're looking around, but you'll know it when you see it.

Definitely wear appropriate hiking boots for this one – we saw people in flip-flops having a MISERABLE time of it. Fascinating geology! 0.7mi — 0h 23m
