Description

The trail is an easy loop starting and ending with a paved section. Most of the trail is through juniper and cedar forest, while the middle section is through reclaimed grassland. There are lots of opportunities for wildflower viewing when in season. The front country trails of Government Canyon are the only dog-friendly trails in the park.

Relaxing hike, the reclaimed grassland allows some easy bird watching. Development right next to the park steals some of the magic though. 6mi — 2h 14m

Took a wrong turn, so ended up walking a half mile in the wrong direction then back tracked. Cool and windy! 5.5mi
