Description
Park in the parking lot (it's quite big) and take a look at the map that is posted there. Go through the gate and just keep hiking! You'll cross a wooden bridge before arriving at an intersection. Go to the left to follow the Musser Gap Trail. If you go right, you'll hike the
Frog Hollow Trail instead. This part of the trail is a bit inclined but doable. You'll arrive at another intersection (the second intersection); take it left again. If you go straight, you'll be hiking the
Mountain Mist Trail.
After a little while, you'll arrive at another intersection. Here, this trail is crossed perpendicularly by the
Mountain Mist Trail. Keep hiking straight if you want to follow the Musser Gap Trail.
If you decide to go back, you could go to your right (following the
Mountain Mist Trail). This path will take you to the second intersection that you encountered before, forming a mini-loop. CAREFUL HERE! Following the
Mountain Mist Trail requires you to turn right at some point (it's marked but you might not see the entrance). You'll know that you have missed the turn to the
Mountain Mist Trail if you see the signal that says "No hunting, trapping, hiking is permitted before this point".
To continue on the Musser Gap Trail, continue to follow it through the intersection with the
Mountain Mist Trail to reach the trail's end in a junction with the Mid-State Trail (MST).
