From the parking lot, head down to the end of the road and turn left onto the trail. Pass a few picnic spots and head down to the river.

Follow along the river, passing under the Cole Mill Bridge and, after a short while, you can turn uphill to the left. After a short rise, the trail levels out. Soon you drop back down along a steep, picturesque cut Pea Creek makes into the hill.

Follow Pea Creek and pass a bridge that gives you access to Dunnagan Trail. Stay to the right and reconnect with the river where you eventually rejoin the trail where you originally headed up the hill.
