You approach the trail from the Pea Creek Trail and stay right along the river to begin with.

The trail is low and even as it skirts the edge of the river just short of a mile until you can see the remnants of the old Durham Pumphouse across the river.

From here, the trail turns around and heads uphill for a quarter mile until it levels out and passes a neighborhood Access Trail to the right.

Head downhill until you come upon an old family grave plot and continue on until the trail turns downriver when it comes to Pea Creek and rejoins the river.

White-tail deer, herons, and plenty of turtles live in this area.
