Description
Lakeview Trail begins by the dam of the lake right at the parking lot between the Fire Road and a recreational fishing trail. The trail follows switchbacks up the hill then crosses Fire Road twice before staying on a nice bench for the next 5 miles. The beginning of the trail weaves through a couple of large meadows then enters the woods for the rest of the hike. After the last meadow, Jungle Pass cuts up the hill to the Fire Road making a nice little singletrack climb up to the road if you want to check that out.
There are a few remnants of old mountain biking features on the trail (stay aware of your surroundings as this trail is still popular with bikers). After a few of the ravine crossings there are some hateful short steep climbs, but overall this trail rolls along nicely. At one point, you come straight to an old cemetery then take a hard right (don't go into the cemetery). The trail ends down a steep hill that drops into a field. Turn left to connect with Fire Road a short distance east.
