Description

This trail can be accessed from the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail with a short hike from the nearby parking lot, or from the Kentuck campground, by way of the Kentuck Trail.

Starting from the GAP, the trail begins climbing immediately, having to cover roughly 450 feet of elevation gain in just under a mile. Some sections of are steep, while others offer opportunity to gain a little lost time. Most of the trail covers somewhat rocky terrain and this can impede your momentum when hiking a steeper section.

There is a single fork in the trail which is well marked with a sign pointing campers to the right and trail users to the left. Stay left to reach Kentuck Trail.
