Parking requires an Adventure Pass from the Forest Service.
Description
The trailhead starts at Glass Road off highway 38. This is a continuation of the Santa Ana river trail. To access this trail you can park on the side of the road at the trailhead if you have an adventure pass, or combine with the Santa Ana River Trail (SART) from South Fork to Glass road. This also requires an adventure pass to park.
This trail travels along the hillside and through wide forested sections. Small rocky sections, smooth singletrack, hairpin turns and rolling terrain galore. You'll cross 3 streams. The first one is an easy hike through in summer, second has a stone bridge and the third requires expert skills to hike, but has a log crossing. There is a short climb after the third stream that leads to a doubletrack downhill to the bottom at a well maintained fireroad (Middle Control Road or on google maps: Mill Creek Rd). This is the end of this trail.
Notes: There are occasional off-shoots from this trail. Ignore them to do the entire trail. Follow 2E03 signage. This trail is one of the best singletracks there is. Most of this trail is under tree cover.
Watch for trees that have fallen across the trail - they can sometimes surprise you.
Be aware that this trail is frequented by mountain bikers. Stay alert while on the trail to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
