Description

From the major intersection of Butter Gap Trail #123, Low Gap Trail, and the Art Loeb Trail, take the one trail that is a little more vegetated and heads uphill. The trail starts off with a gentle rise and then begins to power uphill. Laurel branches help you through some of the steep section until you get to about 50' of 4th class slab. Turn around for a great view. From here the trail eases up a bit and then passes over more bare rock as you close in on the wooded summit. Head back down hill and reunite with the Art Loeb Trail, where you can easily make a loop hike out of this trail and the Art Loeb Trail.
