Description
The Lower ShowGirl Trail is a trail that is fun to hike up and down. From top to bottom the trail changes from shady forest to open sagebrush and Joshua trees. Throughout the hike, the trail is winding in, out & around geological features and trees/brush.
There are three ways to hike this trail: As an out and back from the bottom parking on Kyle Canyon Road or as a shuttle from the various other trails on Deer Creek Road, typically Parking at
North Loop trailhead. The preferred way, however, is to shuttle from Upper ShowGirl trailhead near the Hilltop Campground via
Tin Can Alley trail.
Here I will describe the typical out and back from lower parking. The mileage shown is for one way. From the parking lot, head west in the gravel under the drainage tunnel where you'll join the obvious trail up through a wash. It starts a bit loose and steep but soon mellows to a fun rolling & winding gradual climb. At just past the 4-mile mark the terrain becomes steeper and looser, off and on, for a bit until dropping into
Tin Can Alley. From here turn around and head back down.
