Fee area

Need to Know

In the winter months, the trail is clear of the growth and this is a beautiful single-track trail.

There is a fee to park at this trailhead ($3/$1.50 w. interagency pass). If you would like to avoid this fee or camp overnight prior to your run, continue up the access road past the trailhead about a mile until there is a dirt road on your right with an orange/blue trail marker. If you follow this dirt road up it dead ends in about 200 yards at a small primitive campsite/parking area.

Description

The trailhead is on Green Mountain Road, which is the first gravel road to the West, 0.5 miles north of Jacks Fishing Resort. Travel 1.3 miles on Green Mountain Road to the Syllamo parking area on left. Well marked.

This would be a fun trail if it was at all maintained, but there are lots of downed trees and briars on the trail. According to the locals it is really only well-maintained just prior to Syllamo's Revenge bike race.

At just over 7 miles, the trail is most easily accessed from the White River Bluff Trailhead where the trail practically runs through the parking lot. This loop is marked with orange blazes on carsonite posts.

Warning: Once you cross Green Mountain Road toward the end, the trail becomes hard to find and very overgrown.
