Typically open late spring through fall. Check to see if the trail has been cleared of trees before departing. Lastly, only a fool would hike this west-to-east.

Description

The O'Leary Ridge Trail takes you deep, deep into the temperate coniferous forest of the Cascade Mountains. A stunning variety of wildflowers hug the narrow singletrack, with beargrass and shrubs hiding a never-ending parade of rocks and roots.

This trail is no stroll in the park; getting out there (and back) takes skill, fitness, a full pack, and the ability to keep one's cool when you realize a bad fall could mean a night in the woods. Your reward is sublime singletrack and mountain views.

The trail is best accessed via Trail #3549 (Olallie Trail) and traveled east-to-west, as the descent on the west end drops out from beneath you like you've just gone off a cliff.

If you are interested in hiking this trail as a shuttle, Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters provides shuttles. More information can be found on their website or by calling 541-822-3243.
