September '22, Adams Gulch TH CLOSED for reconstruction.

Need to Know

Road closure could affect the route and overall mileage and accessibility of this trail.

Description

The Eve's Gulch drainage was severely burned in the Castle Rock Fire, and a majority of this trail was re-routed in 2009. The new trail makes several looping switchbacks up a long 1,400-foot climb. The trail eventually connects to an old mining road and descends the West Fork of Warm Springs Creek. Therefore it can be done as an out-and-back, or as a as part of a larger loop, and perhaps a backpacking trip.

You'll cross the creek many times (usually via skinny bridges), wander in and out of forests, meadows, and burn areas. Views are exceptional as you get higher.

Expect smooth a smooth trail (despite a lot of vertical it's never very steep) on this very popular trail - be careful of others!

This is popular with the biking community, so be aware of your surroundings and other users on the trail.

Getting into the heavy burn area close to the summit of this trail. Despite the burn, the area is still amazing beautiful up here.
