Description
Lots of brand spanking new trails at this winter/spring hiking gem. One of COTA's newest efforts does not disappoint - with spectacular singletrack and some modestly rugged rock sections right along the Deschutes River canyon rim, there is something for the novice and expert to play with here.
The newer singletrack sections are narrow and soft on the edges, so watch your step.
With beautiful views of the river and mountains, this new track is already getting a lot of attention. The 25 parking spots at the new Newcomb Road Trailhead were all taken on a recent Sunday, but only two of the 18 horse trailer slots, so all's good.
There's a restroom and several picnic tables at the trailhead.
The Juniper Trailhead to the north is an optional starting/ending point for this hike.
