This track has easy access from the Ashurst side carpark. Follow the track alongside the road until it descends to the underpath under the road where the track starts following a small river bed. Slightly climbing, the track passes the river on good ground. Follow the track for about 1.6 km until you get to a junction with the Manawatu Gorge Trail where you turn left to get back to the start.
The track is mainly covered by trees, making it nice if you want to hide from the strong sun.
