Description

Desert hiking at its finest, located in the Estrella Mountain Ranch community. Parking can be found in the Foothills Community Park, which is not packed for the most part. Other parking options can be found at Westar Elementary School.

Cacti, rocks, and bees do become a normal occurrence on this loop. There are a few sharp turns that require you to watch your footing and there are some short, steep sections.

Be aware, as other trails split off in many directions and it can be easy to take a wrong turn. This trail has a good deal of exposure along mountain faces, which can become dangerous, but are mostly manageable. There are a few bench spots and sitting areas, which are good for photo opportunities as they overlook the community.

The best time to hike this trail is in winter - spring. FINS, Estrella Mountain Regional Park, and White Tanks are others to try out in the area.

I'm 99% sure this trail is no longer accessible due to housing developments & the land the trail was on is posted as private-no tresspassing.

Use the app to stay on correct trail as there are numerous unmarked trails that intersect. 8mi

This route was fun and perfect for my last hike of the year. Not a hard track for walking and running. Also great for easy to moderate mountain b… 7.5mi
