Description
To access Warm Springs Creek Trail #103 park at Crazy Creek Campground.
Hike across the bridge and over the talus. Don't worry, the whole trail isn't like this - it quickly mellows out and begins a gentle climb with the creek to keep you company. In the first mile or so there are a some roots and a few short rocky sections. Eventually, you'll break out into a meadow left over from a fire in the distant past and at 1.5 miles, the
Fire Creek Trail #404 junction will appear.
Stay straight along the creek and enjoy the open meadows for a little while longer, because once the meadow ends the trees get bigger and the canopy keeps the trail in the shade. In this old growth there are the occasionally rooty sections, but nothing too challenging. Cross the creek about 3.5 miles in and encounter some more scree. A little more than 5.5 miles in, the trail forks and the Warm Springs Trail is actually the less obvious right fork. The more obvious left trail heads to to the USFS Twogood Cabin (rentable) up
Porcupine Creek Trail #205.
Continuing on Warm Springs Creek Trail (#103) climb a few switchbacks and cross to the south side of the creek. The trail weaves through a burn and has been somewhat eroded in places. After a steeper section of trail you'll reach the saddle and then descend a short distance to the junction with Trail #673 (Overwhich Falls) and end of the trail. From here many people head north to reach Pass and Capri Lakes.
