“A well maintained gravel trail that connects the camping areas and the Visitor Center.
”
Family Friendly
This provides an unchallenging loop to explore the area, especially if camping nearby.
Access to the Río Grande del Norte National Monument is $3/day per vehicle.
Description
This 5.5-mile casual loop connects the several campgrounds with the Visitor Center. The gravel path is about five feet wide. Minimal elevation changes and a smooth tread make this easy in either direction.
From the visitor center, the loop provides access to the Pescado Trail. As it works around, it accesses several hiking-only trails that drop down into the gorge (some with petroglyphs at the bottom).
