Description

Little Clifty is the biggest singletrack loop at Hobbs State Park.

Starting from the Piney Road trailhead, stay right to access the trail and contour parallel the road through a big open forest. The route eventually turns left to descend quickly to Little Clifty Creek.

After crossing the creek, the trail climbs steeply and then mellows out into rolling terrain. After crossing a road stay left at the intersection with War Eagle Loop. From here, Little Clifty continues along the rolling contour with several short climbs and descents. The route travels through beautiful forest becoming quite dense at times.

After passing another intersection with War Eagle Loop and Visitor Center Trail, the route parallels and then crosses Townsend Ridge Rd. The trail traverses a hillside before starting a steep descent back down to Little Clifty Creek.

The last bit of the route is a steep climb back up to road level followed by a smoother section through the big trees.
