Dogs Leashed
Family Friendly
This is fun for easy exploring. There's convenient parking and it's just a few minutes from family-friendly food spots for post-hike grubbing (Torchy's Tacos, Mod Pizza).
Resist the temptation to take cut-through paths or non-marked "hack trails"....most cases of people getting confused or lost is because they took a "hack trail" or cut-through that was not marked with a trailhead sign.
Description
A short moderate trail, this is the main route from the trailhead that leads into the wider set of Canyonlands trails/hikes. The trail has a mild descent all the way to its end point. At the bottom of this trail, you can connect to the
High Trail where there is a bathroom and free cold purified water dispenser.
The main access point into all the trails and hikes in this system is the trailhead of the Trophy Trail, located on Trophy Drive just across from the Lakeway Swim Center.
There is a large trailhead billboard with a large trail system map visibly obvious from the street. Take the Trophy Trail starting from the point just to the right of the trailhead billboard where you'll see the "Friends of Lakeway" wooden sign hanging at the start. From that point on, all trail crossings/connections are clearly marked with signposts.
