Description

The trail follows a historic dike along Hookton Slough, one of the branches of Humboldt Bay. The dike is topped by a gravel road with interpretive signs. Follow the trail until you reach a locked gate where it rejoins dry land.

Flora & Fauna

More than 200 bird species—some of them endangered—call this refuge their home. Humboldt Bay is one of the stopovers along the Pacific Flyway migration route.
