Family Friendly
It's a quick route, with great views and pavilions to have lunch in. I saw many families when I visited.
Description
From the parking lot it will take a roughly 20 minutes to make your way up the trail to get to a pavilion below the summit. The final 10-15 minutes (depends on the number of people) will be a bit of a scramble at times, but there is a rope placed to help you pull yourself up.
Climbing to the very top will require you to enter a cave before finally climbing out of the small cave on the top of 茶壺山(chahushan - Teapot Mountain). The views are amazing on a clear day, and you can easily see Mt. Jilong/Mt. Keelung which provides an amazing view with the ocean in the background. I have climbed all over Taiwan and feel this is a quick outing in a tourist area that is absolutely worth the time and effort!
Climbing in bad weather will leave you fairly exposed if you are not used to hiking in bad weather. Bring a good pair of shoes and be ready to climb a few rocks. If you are not used to the Taiwan weather, bring some extra water.
