Description

A fun out-and-back from the Hotel Alyeska, or it can be connected with the Crow Creek Road on the other side of Winner Creek. If doing a longer hike, this trail would be mostly downhill if hiking from Crow Creek Road back to the Hotel.

This trail starts at the T-intersection just past the Hotel Alyeska. They've worked on a new section of trail and covered it with wood chips... follow this trail and stay right on the dirt road.

There's not an obvious sign, but it's an obvious trail. This connects you to the actual Winner Creek Trail, where you'll hang a left and hike up a short incline. After that, the trail is fairly level, and there's a long section of planks with steps.

After this section, you'll come to an intersection. Stay left to continue to the hand tram. If you go right on the Upper Winner Creek Trail it becomes much more difficult with large rocks, roots, and obstacles! The hand-tram trail is much easier but does have a few rocks. You can turn around at the hand-tram or hop on the tram and continue across! Continuing across the tram will bring you to the Crow Creek Road.

This is a popular multi-use trail so be aware of other users and moose!

The snowcat bridge you cross at the Winner Cr. trail junction (avoid the 1st part of A1 Ridge like the plague! Take Winner Cr. trail to A1 and split off here).
